Maziya pull off third win as Ilan reaches 12 goals

Maziya Sports and Recreation U19 team have delivered another goal fest, in today’s game of FAM Youth Championship against Keyodhoo.

With one round of the league phase left to play, the unbeaten Maziya’s third win in four games secured them a spot in the finals.

Maziya were 5-0 up at half time this evening, courtesy of a brace from Ilan followed by goals from Anoof, Nassah and Naheek.

Ilan completed his hat-trick to restart scoring in the second half, as Keyodhoo defenders blundered trying to clear away an early cross. The Maziya captain scored his fourth, and the game’s seventh goal, in the 70th minute.

Just as his first two goals, the break came through the centre of the pitch, as Ilan tiptoed away from the Keyodhoo defenders before placing in the ball with a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

This was Maziya’s 25th goal of the Youth Championship. They have the highest ratio (6.25) of goals-per-game, followed by New Radiant, with 4.25 goals per game.

Both New Radiant and Odi Sports Club are currently vying for the second spot in the finals against Maziya.
