Maldives national Rocket League team finished Week 1 of the FIFAe World Cup qualifiers at 32nd on the global leaderboard –  a remarkable achievement for a nation just entering the biggest Rocket League tournament in the world.

The national team trio, Maadhin, Kain, and Rafaah, had reached 1060 points by the end of the week. “Team Maldives is at rank 32, which is an extremely good ranking on an international level so far”, stated a representative of the team.

On day one of the Maldives had leapt to 3rd in the overall rankings. Competing in the Asia East and Oceania region, Maldives were grouped with Indonesia, Brunei, Kyrgyzstan, Australia, New Zealand, Laos, Guam, and Bangladesh. Despite not making the cut in the first week, FIFAe website stated that “The debutant nation Maldives left a positive first impression, setting room for hope for the upcoming weeks”.

The FIFAe Nations League is the first competition stage on the road to the FIFAe World Cup 2026. It paves the pathway for regional champions to compete in the continental championships, and ultimately, the FIFAe Finals.
