Ismail Sajid (Kuda Kaatte) and Adam Naseem’s pair are champions of the men’s division in this year’s National Beach Volleyball League, as Aminath Areesha and Fathmath Zeenia win the women’s division title yet again.
The National Beach Volleyball League 2025 took place from last Wednesday till yesterday, at the Redbull Court in Hulhumale’. Nine pairs competed in the men’s division, while women’s division saw six pairs in this year’s league.
The men’s champions Kuda Kaatte, and Adam Naseem (who won Volleyball athlete of the year at last year’s Maldives Sports Awards) have now won the National Beach Volleyball League for a third year in a row. The pair faced Ahmed Mohamed (Coakey) and Mohamed Ali (Danzo) in the final. Bronze medal was awarded to third-placed duo Adhunan and Shimal.
Areesha and Zeenia were faced with Aminath Maajidha and Hawwa Rashidha’s pair in the final yet again, but the defending champion pair managed to win the title. This is Areesha’s third National Beach Volleyball gold medal in a row; her pair with Maajidha had won the title in 2023.
Third-placed Anaal and Shamha managed to win the bronze medal in this year’s women’s division. Anaal had won third place last year as well, when she teamed up with Alya.
The Volleyball Association of Maldives (VAM) established this tournament in 2023. It was initially titled ‘Maldives Beach Volleyball Challenge’.
