Hussain Shuhaadh Shuhan, a teenager from L.Mavaah, has made history as the youngest to score a hat-trick at a Dhivehi Premier League game, as United Victory claims their very first win of the season.
Shuhaadh made his second start in a DPL game on Tuesday evening. Facing each other in the first game of the third round of fixtures, both TC and UV were keen to end their respective losing streaks.
TC Sports scored the opener just before half-time, as the Veteran Ahmed Rilwan fired a loose ball into the roof of the net from close range. United Victory equalized just three minutes into the second half. The UV winger Hussain Shuhaadh perfectly timed his run to evade the offside trap and hit the deflected ball with his weaker left foot, after the TC goalkeeper bounced off a shot by Shanaan.
Four minutes later, Shuhaadh was at the right place at the right time once more, to tap in the ball after it bounced off the goalpost. In the 58th minute, Shuhaadh dribbled past the TC defense line on a counterattack and shot it to the far post from just inside the eighteen-yard box.
United Victory lent the final blow to TC on the 84th minute, with a freekick from Ish’aaf Mohamed.
United Victory had lost the opening game against Odi Sports and the second game against New Radiant. TC Sports Club had lost the first game against New Radiant and the second against Maziya SR.
Neither TC nor UV had managed to score a single goal this season until yesterday. Both teams were absent at Monday’s press conference as well.
United Victory has leapfrogged to fourth place in the DPL table, for the moment. Following the upcoming international break, United Victory will have to face Maziya Sport and Recreation next, on 19th October.
