Odi Sports Club has defeated TC Sports Club 3-0 in last night’s game of the Dhivehi Premier League 2025.
Winning the eighth game in ten fixtures, Odi has kept up their pace in the title race, narrowing the gap between them and Maziya down to five points.
Two of the three goals were scored by Muzdhaan Hassan. He scored the opener in the 17th minute. It had built up from a throw-in inside the TC half. Ahuzam Rasheed swung the ball high into the penalty area, before Muzdhan chipped it over the goalkeeper after it bounced off the ground.
Ahuzam went on to deliver another assist just before half-time, delivering a through ball for Ibrahim Waheed on the counterattack.
Ibbe wore the captain’s armband last night. He had taken up the role in the absence of Mohamed Rasheed (Hockey), who had been sidelined after a seizure recurred during the previous game.
The de facto captain was involved in the third and final goal of the game as well – setting up Muzdhan, who took a TC defender into the ground before firing the ball into the near post, in the third minute of stoppage time.
These were Muzdhan’s sixth and seventh goals of the season. The 19-year-old wonderkid of Odi is now in third place in the race for the Golden Boot. Only Sergio Iglesias of Maziya and Ali Fasir of New Radiant have scored more goals than Muzdhan.
With last night’s win, Odi has gained a eight-point edge over third-placed New Radiant. The Blues will take on their oldest rivals, Club Valencia, in Friday evening’s game. The night’s game will see a clash between Buru SC and United Victory.
