New Radiant Sports Club has been defeated for the first time since their return to the Dhivehi Premier League, as Odi SC climbs to second in the league standings.
Going into the international break, the newly promoted Odi SC was one point behind New Radiant, and both teams were equal on goal difference. With last night’s victory, Odi has earned 19 points in eight games. New Radiant is in third with 17 points.
The only goal of the game came in the 66th minute, as Ibrahim Waheed Hassan headed in a cross from Ahuzam Rasheed.
The game started with Ibbe taking on the helm of Odi, wearing the captain’s armband after Mohamed Rasheed was sidelined due to an injury. Odi SC’s rising star, Ahuzam Rasheed, won the Player of the Match award.
After an amazing run of clean sheets at the start of the season, New Radiant have had a rough string of fixtures in November. Having escaped with a narrow 2-1 win against Buru SC in the sixth game week, New Radiant was held to a 2-2 draw by Club Green Streets in the following week.
