The Maldives Basketball Association has signed a five-year strategic partnership with the Bank of Maldives.
The partnership was made with the intent of advancing basketball in the country, says BML. Announcing the partnership this evening, BML revealed its pledge to support the development of an indoor basketball arena.
The Bank, renowned for its CSR campaigns and community empowerment initiatives, said it will “provide support to two of the country’s most prominent basketball tournaments – the National Basketball League and the National 3×3 League”. It is yet uncertain to what extent this ‘support’ will be.
BML says via Mihaaru that this partnership will have a positive impact not just in the capital, but across the Atolls as well.
Following the signing of the partnership, president of the Maldives Basketball Association, Ahmed Adam acknowledged this partnership’s possibility in creating more opportunities for basketball players in the future.
