Maafushi School have defeated Alifu Dhaalu Atoll Education Centre of Mahibadhoo 2-0 in the U17 final of Raajje Junior Football Championship this evening.
Both of Maafushi goals were scored by captain Moosa Mikyaal Shakeeb. Both were scored in the first half of the game. The first goal was scored in the second minute, as Mikyaal’s left-footed cornerkick had curved into the net.
Mikyaal’s second goal was a solo effort as well – curling a shot from outside the penalty area after taking on Mahibadhoo defenders.
The Maafushi number 7 went on to win player of the match.
