Masodi Defeats Victory to win the second Division Trophy

Masodi beat Victory 3-2 in the final to win the 2023 Second Division.

Both teams had achieved the most important target of the tournament when they won the semi final fixtures to reach the final. Two teams to reach the final are guaranteed a place in the first division.

Masodi took an early two-goal lead in the match but Victory equalised late in the game, just to witness Masodi scoring the last minute to win the trophy with a 100 percent winning run.

Ibrahim Waheed Hassan (Ibbe) headed in Abdulla Ziyan’s cross to give them the lead in the 24th minute. Hussain Shareef (Mudaa) doubled the lead for them after four minutes.

Hussain Niyaz Mohamed (Bokury) scored for Victory minutes before the end of the first half to give them some glimpse of hope. Their skipper Akram Abdul Ghanee equalized late in the second half.

Odely Felix Cheadi scored the winner for Masodi from a cross by Ali Shamis (Thoppey) in the second minute of stoppage time.
