The long anticipated Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1446 was launched last night at the newly built ring at Central Park in Hulhumale’.
Twelve out of the 29 teams made their appearances last night – six advanced to the round of sixteen, and six losing teams were eliminated.

The defending champions Buru Sports were among the six teams knocked out last night. Buru lost their match up against The Futsal Town, TFT, in two straight games. TFT Wakaruge also qualified to the next round, after defeating The Bows in back-to-back confrontations.
Two of last night’s matches were decided on tiebreakers. Janavaree Magu Sports Club were dragged on to a third game by Little Town, but JSC managed to qualify in the end. The fixture between BG New Generation and Kuda Henveyru United were also taken to a third round, in which BG triumphed.
Last year’s runner-ups Club Kaasinjee returned to the ring well prepared, taking out Club 010 in two games. Kaasinjaa, however, were eliminated by LT Sports in the final game of the night.
Seven more matches of the initial round are scheduled for tonight.
The remainder of the teams – Club Wanted, Teenage Juniors, and Zeppo – all three have received a bye into the round of sixteen.
