Buru Sports Club have earned a massive victory over TC Sports Club in this evening’s game of FAM Youth Championship.
Having suffered defeats in their respective opening games, Buru and TC both were eager to earn points this evening. But the gulf in qualify has resulted in Buru thrashing five goals while conceding just one.
Four of the five goals came before half-time. TC’s deadlock was broken by the sixth minute via Arham Amjad, connecting his sprint to a long pass from the backline. It took five more minutes for Buru to extend that lead. Assisted by captain Yoosuf Shahid, Nooh Ismail lobbed the ball over the TC goalkeeper on a one-on-one.
Buru scored twice more within the last five minutes of the first half. Having another through ball which cut through the TC defense line, it was Joodh who tapped it in, after his initial attempt passed through the goalkeeper’s legs. Joodh got himself an assist within seconds after scoring, as Nooh Ismail fired a screamer from the edge of the eighteen yard box.
Joodh went on to score his second goal in the 71st minute, tapping in the low cross from Yoosuf Shahid at the byline.
TC eventually got themselves a goal. Squeezing in a drop ball by Buru goalkeeper Livaaz who had just saved a free kick, it was Abdhulla Aidan Sajid who scored the only goal for TC this evening.
Having conceded eight goals at the hands of Maziya, TC are now carrying a twelve-goal deficit and zero points after two games. Dropping another point would have them ruled out of a spot in the semifinals.
Buru had fought hard for a point in the opening game against Keyodhoo. They had equalized late in the game, only to concede in the dying minutes and lose the game.
Tonight’s game will see a re-emerged New Radiant take on defending champions Maziya Sports and Recreation.
