Club Eagles are set to finish game week four on second place in the table, after a 2-2 draw away at Dhidhdhoo.

The North League champions remain unbeaten at home, having held New Radiant to a draw last weekend.

Just as in their first home game, the home side had the lead this evening until the dying minutes of the game, before conceding the goal and ending the match on 2-2.

In a first half that saw more threatening attacks by the home side, it ended with Eagles on the front foot. Dhidhdhoo’s Tetteh Gideon had missed the chance to take the lead from the spot, with Eagles goalie Saqib Hanif punching it away.

Beating the Dhidhdhoo goalkeeper to receive a through ball from Amir Shoeib, it was Mohamed Jailam (Oggy) who broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute. Oggy calmly controlled the ball to escape the charging goalie and tapped it into the empty net.

Dhidhdhoo got a second chance from the penalty spot, and this time it was Chia Felix Gwain who stepped up to convert the penalty.

Eagles were down to ten men in the 66th minute, after Ali Ishfaaq was shown a second yellow following an attempt to hold back a Dhidhdhoo counter-attack.

The home side took the lead within seven minutes of having the numerical advantage on the field, as Eagles’ attempt to clear away a corner kick backfired and Tetteh tapped in a cross by Mohamed Shanau Naseer.

With ninety seconds of regulation time remaining, the Liberian forward Van-Dave Harmon equalized for Eagles, tapping in a low cross from substitute Mohamed Shamhan.

Eagles remain unbeaten after four game weeks. They end the week in second place, equal on points with Victory, with the latter having a goal-difference advantage.
