Dhidhdhoo Sports have put on an unforgettable performance against New Radiant, as they host a Dhivehi Premier League game for the very first time.
The home side were two goals up by the 13th minute of the game. Goals scored by Ufaal Abdhulla and Tetteh Gideon saw Dhidhdhoo take the two-goal lead within a three-minute window.
Ufaal scored with a diving header inside the six-yard box. Tetteh widened the lead after beating the goalkeeper on the counter-attack.
New Radiant substituted Moosa Yameen off and brought on Ali Fasir in the 30th minute. They were soon to pull back a goal. Dorielton had beaten the goalkeeper to the ball and hit the post. The rebound ball was fired in by Ali Ashfaq.
New Radiant’s equalizer came in the dying seconds of the game; Dhidhdhoo’s goalkeeper saved a shot from Mohamed Naaim, who struck from the left flank, but the ball bounced just right for Yaya Billity to head into the empty net.
New Radiant remains unbeaten in three games and is tied on points with Victory Sports Club, who played Maziya at Galolhu Stadium this evening. The game also ended in a 2-2 draw.
