The FAM Women’s League champion is set to be decided in next Tuesday’s game between title contenders Maziya SR and Odi SC.

Chasing the top position in the six-team league has seen both Maziya and Odi keep the race alive through an unbeaten run for both clubs in the past four fixtures.

Following Monday’s 3-0 win over New Radiant, Maziya reached ten points with a fifteen-goal advantage. Their Nepali striker, Rekha Poudel, had scored a hat-trick against the Blues.

In yesterday’s game between Odi SC and Victory, both teams had everything to fight for and chase the title, with Victory having scored five points and Odi with seven points in the previous three games.

Odi managed to defeat Victory, with their star player Fathmath Saliya scoring from a freekick. Saliya’s goal decided the outcome of the game as the fulltime score stood 1-0, and earned her the POTM.

Odi and Maziya are now equal on not just points, but on goal-difference as well – both having a +15 goal advantage. Maziya are however leading the table, having just one extra goal scored than Odi – Maziya had scored seventeen goals while Odi had scored sixteen.

Odi SC’s only draw in the league was against New Radiant in the opening fixture on 2nd December. The game had ended 1-1. As for Maziya, the only team to hold them back were Victory Sports Club, who managed to pull off a 2-2 draw against Maziya in the third fixture.
