Victory Sports Club has earned a vital three points against Club Green Streets this evening.

Having lost their respective games in the first fixture, Victory and Green Streets faced each other, both hoping to get the first win of the new Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League season.

Victory earned the free kick in the 90+2nd minute of the game, after a CGS player conceded a handball near the center of the half. The left-footed Abdullah Midhuhath Fahmy (Bichard) stepped up to curve the ball into the goal, beyond the reach of the goalkeeper’s gloves.

Bichards was unfortunate not to have scored early on in the game, having hit the post in a one-on-one with the CGS goalkeeper in the 45th minute.

The last time Victory played and won a first-division game was six years ago, before they were suspended by the Football Association of Maldives in late 2019. Victory went on to play in the Second Division and were promoted back to the top tier following the previous season.

The last time they won a competitive game was in February last year, against New Radiant SC in the semifinal of the Second Division. Victory SC withdrew from the FAM League Cup in May of this year, citing financial reasons.
