Maldivian in-line skating team has won eight bronze, one silver, and one gold medal at the In-line Skate Series 2 in Jakarta, Indonesia.

A total of 19 young skaters from Maldives participated in the tournament, which was held from 20th to 27th May.

Ahmed Raahif Shafeeu won the gold medal for the Maldives. He competed at the U14 age category and secured first place in the 200m flying category.

Raahif also won bronze medals in three different categories: the 500m, 5000m and 1800m Team Relay.

The one silver medal for Maldives was won by Aara Abdhullah Riffath, who competed in the U14 age category as well. Aara secured 2nd place in the 1800m elimination category.

The athletes representing Skate Maldives competed across four different age categories – U9, U11, U14 and U17 – in both girls’ and boys’ divisions. In addition to Raahif’s four medals and Aara’s silver, Maldivian skaters won eight bronze medals in the championship.

Young skaters representing 30 clubs from five countries – Maldives, Indonesia, India, Thailand and Malaysia – competed in the international Open Championship which ended this Sunday.
