Cricket Board of Maldives (CBM) has presented awards to top players and benefactors of the sport during yesterday’s Cricket Evening 2025, held at Ghiyasuddin School hall.
In addition to rewarding the top players from the past three years, CBM had presented a ‘Service Award’ and a ‘President’s Award’. Chief guest, Sports Minister Abdhullah Rafiu presented the awards.
Junior and Youth Cricket Awards
Best male cricketer from the atolls – Mizyaan Ibrahim.
Best female cricketer from the atolls – Sumayya Binth Hameed
Best junior player – Abdhullah Mabsar
Emerging player of the year 2023 – Shius Fareed
Most promising player (Male) – Mohamed Miuwan Shifau
Most promising player (Female) – Shamma Ali

On top of the best bowlers and batters, CBM honored the top clubs of the past three years as well as the best all-round male and female cricketers.

Best Foreign Player 2024 was awarded to Thaaraka Ruwan. Adam Nasif Umar was named ‘Cricketer of the year’ from both 2022 and 2023.
Sumaya Binth Hameed was awarded best female cricketer 2023. Sumayya was also named 2023’s best female batter and Best Atoll Cricker (Girls).
Yoosuf Azyan, the best batter from the past two years, was named as the ‘Cricketer of the year 2024’.
