Hussain Raushaan, the General Secretary of Maldives Carrom Association, has been elected as the Vice President of International Carrom Federation.
In his new position, Raushaan would become the youngest ever VP of the International Carrom Federation. Raushaan was elected during the ICF congress in San Francisco, USA.
Raushaan has been serving the Carrom Association since 2019. He used to be a carrom player and later an umpire. He had served as umpire during the 2014 Carrom World Cup.
During his tenure as General Secretary of CAM, Raushaan had helped CAM build close working relationships with institutions in the international carrom community.
Most notably, Raushaan played an important role in Maldives securing the bid to host the Asian Carrom Championship, a tournament that had been halted for the past decade. It was eventually hosted by CAM at Maafannu Social Centre during April of this year.
The new Vice President of ICF had represented Maldives at the international level on behalf of several other sporting bodies as well. He had served as VP of World Bodybuilding and Physique Federation, as well as the representative of Asia at the International Cricket Council (ICC). Raushaan had also served as a council member of the World Badminton Federation (WBF).
