TC Sports Club has defeated Club Green Streets 2-0 in the final game of the week, earning a vital three points to survive in the DPL.

This evening’s victory puts TC four points clear of the direct relegation zone, with a total of 12 points in 15 games.

While both teams had found themselves in decent positions to score in the first half, neither was able to. The closest to breaking the deadlock was an attempt by Boadu Prince just before halftime, which the Green goalkeeper punched over the crossbar. Ahunaf struck twice on target, but both of the shots were saved. The first half ended in a goalless stalemate.

A turnover in possession on the 58th minute led to the opener, as Hussain Shareef struck a volley from a rebound ball on the counterattack. TC widened the lead 15 minutes later, with Hussain Shareef’s involvement in another attack. Shareef’s throughball found Dhaanish at the D-area, from where he beat the goalkeeper before passing the ball into the empty goal.

TC Sports Club needs to win just one more game to ensure they are not relegated. Green Streets, on the other hand, have an even narrower chance of survival.
