Following two tough fixtures in succession, Maziya Sports and Recreation have returned to winning ways, defeating TC Sports Club 3-0 this evening.

This was the second win in four games for Maziya, who were defeated by New Radiant and held to a draw by Victory in the previous two weeks.

It took six attempts on goal for Maziya to open the scoring. The first goal came via Ibrahim Mahudhee Hussain, assisted by a cross from Looth, who cut in from the byline. Ibbe’s shot rattled the near post on its way into the goal.

Just moments after Maziya made double substitutions in the second half, bringing on Benjamin Thomas Kuku and Nicola Vujicic, they made it two-nil. A corner kick from Ibrahim Aisam was converted from the near post by Serbian player Nemanja Zdravkovic, who leapt above the TC defenders to head it in.

The substitutes were involved in the third goal, as Nicola’s through-cross flew over Eenaz and dipped right for Kuku to head in from the far post.

With Aidh and Nashiu coming on, Maziya went on to threaten a fourth goal with multiple more attempts, while TC were unable to make a real threat in their final third.

Tonight’s game will see a much-awaited confrontation between Odi Sports Club and New Radiant, who finished last season in second and third place, respectively.
