Dhivehi Surf League 2025 has reached the shores of Laamu Maabaidhoo for ‘Kerandoo’, the second of three events of the year.
The Maldives Surfing Association has revealed that a total of 40 surfers have registered for the event: 20 in the U18 Junior Boys’ category and 20 in the Men’s Open. In addition, the event will also feature a standalone bodyboarding category. As of the deadline, 15 bodyboarders have signed up.
Kerandoo is the substitute event for Kalhegalekodaa – the second competition in the DSL that previously took place at Tiger Stripes in G.Dh. Gadhdhoo. Unlike Tiger Stripes, Maabaidhoo’s break, which is known as the “Machine”, offers a right-hand barrel.

Kerandoo was initially scheduled for the first week of September. As per the new schedule, the competition will start this Wednesday and will continue throughout the weekend, with finals scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
