Eesha’s previous record was 609.6 points, which she scored while competing at the 2025 National Shooting Sports Championship.
Two other Maldivian shooters also competed in the same category today. Ainaa Shoua Akhtar Ibrahim scored 599.5 points, and Aishath Een Aslam scored 609.9 points.
Earlier this year, Eesha had won Maldives a bronze medal in the 10m air rifle event at the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2026. Eesha won it in the mixed junior category, alongside Ahmed Maaidh Mohamed.
The Asian Games shooting events are being held at the General Shooting Gallery in Nagoya, Japan.
The 10m air rifle event, one of over a dozen shooting events in the Asian Games, concluded today as China, India and Japan won the gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
A total of 55 shooters from different countries competed in today’s event.
The shooting events at Asian Games 2026 get underway from September 20 and runs through till October 1. Competitions will be held across rifle, pistol and shotgun shooting disciplines. Rifle and pistol will each offer nine sets of medals while shotgun will have 10.
Three Maldivian shooters will also compete tomorrow in the men’s 10m air rifle event. They are Ahmed Mahidhu Mohamed, Umar Mohamed Nasheed and Ibrahim Shifan.
