Maldives national football team has been defeated by Lebanon 6-0 in Thursday’s friendly game in Kyrgyzstan.

Maldives played roughly 80 minutes with ten-men; captain Samooh Ali was sent off with a straight red card following a tackle near the penalty area. Lebanon’s Husseyn Chakroun, who plays for German Club Hannover 96, scored a first-half hattrick, two of which came within six minutes  (36′, 42) towards the end of the first half.

Substitutes and rotations were insufficient for Maldives to rescue themselves from Lebanon’s attacks; an own goal and a late brace by Ali Kassas made it 6-0 at fulltime.

Prior to facing Lebanon, Maldives played Kyrgyzstan and China during this international window. Both games ended in defeat, although the China match produced a more optimistic 3-0 result, compared to the 5-0 defeat to Kyrgyzstan.
