Maziya Sports and Recreation have extended their winning streak to a third day, and New Radiant grabbed the second win in the FAM U19 Youth Football Championship.
New Radiant were the winners of this evening game against debutants V.Keyodhoo, and Maziya took on the much experienced Buru SC. Both delivered a whopping 7-1 scoreline.
The New Radiant game saw three first-half goals and five in the second half. The Blues were 3-0 up at half-time, with goals from Ayaan Hassan Shareef, Ahmed Maain Mohamed, and a stoppage-time finish from Mohamed Izaan Ali.
Second-half saw Zaaki Mujuthaba Zahir score a brace for New Radiant, restarting the scoring in 49th minute. Zaaki went on to finish the scoring, with another goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time.
Keyodhoo failed to threaten a comeback at any point in the game. Their only goal, scored from the spot by Mohamed Shammah, was soon followed by two more concessions, with Abdhulla Aaish and Ahmed Hamdhaan scoring for New Radiant in the span of five minutes.
Last night saw Maziya take on the relatively more experienced opponent, Buru SC.
Striker Ilan Imran, who scored four goals in the opening game, went on to score another streak of four goals, with a hat-trick in the first half alone. With the added brace from Aidh Mohamed Javeez, Buru SC were thrashed by the end of the first half.
Ilan added a fourth goal in the seventh minute of second half, with Anoof Abdhulla making it 7-0 with eleven minutes to spare.
Maziya would have wrapped it up with a clean sheet if not for Buru pulling one back in the fourth minute of extra time – a mere consolation goal from winger Arham Amjad.
