Vaavu Keyodhoo have emerged victorious in their debut game of FAM Youth Championship, defeating Buru SC 2-1 in heavy rainfall tonight.
Keyodhoo were leading at half-time, courtesy of the opener scored in the 22nd minute with a cross from Rayyan. The low cross from the right had slipped in between the Buru SC goalkeeper and the near post.
The play had to be paused soon after, as one of the floodlights had shut down.
With stubborn rain pouring down, playing the rest of the first half and the entire second half was made difficult as the ground at Galolhu Stadium turned muddy.
Buru equalized in the 75th minute of the game, as Azhadh scored from the penalty spot.
Keyodhoo took back the lead via a penalty kick as well, after a foul on Shabin inside six yard box. Shammah stepped up to convert the penalty kick, redeeming his foul early on which led Buru to equalize.
The last match of the first fixture will be played Sunday night, as Odi SC takes on New Radiant SC.
