FAM’s Competitions Committee has decided to overrule the results of the game between K.Huraa and Dh. Kudahuvadhoo, in the final fixture of BML Central League.
The pivotal game which was going to decide the Central League winners had ended with Kudahuvadhoo winning over Huraa. Which meant Huraa would be overtaken by Kudahuvadhoo in the final league standings.
However, FAM had said it reversed the decision after its Competitions Committee had confirmed that “two players fielded by Dh. Kudahuvadhoo were ineligible due to suspension arising from accumulated yellow cards”. Kudahuvadhoo team had therefore violated article 24.1 of the regulations of BML Region League, the FA noted.
The reversal of the onfield results means Huraa would be granted 3 points and a two goal advantage:
“Whereby a team fields a player who is ineligible, not included in the official team list, or not designated to play in a specific
match, the points and goals obtained from that match shall be forfeited by the team and the
opposing team shall be awarded 3 points and 2 goals”
– Article 3.3, BML Regional League Regulations
Kudahuvadhoo has thus ended its campaign, remaining at second place in the Central League with eight points. The three points granted to Huraa means they are the champions of Central League, with 13 points and a +10 goal advantage. Their sole defeat in the league came in the away match at Mahibadhoo.
Huraa is the fifth team to join the list of participants in the Qualification play-offs for the Dhivehi Premier League. The remainning spot will be earned by the champions of the South League, which is yet to be decided.
