Raa Alifushi wins against Lhaviyani Kurendhoo in tonight’s Group H game of the Ninety-Plus Gold Cup.
The only goal of the game was scored by Ahmed Husaam in the 63rd minute of the game. Alifushi’s cross from the right side of the box was caught in the mix-up when Husaam tapped it in from close range. This was his third goal of the tournament.
With the three points from tonight’s game, Alifushi moves to the top of the group. Alifushi’s next fixture is on Sunday, 15th December, against home side Male’ City.
Kurendhoo will face Male’ City this Thursday night in a must-win game for them. If Male’ City beats Kurendhoo on Thursday night, Alifushi will automatically qualify for the quarterfinals with the capital, with one game in hand.
The winner of this group will have to face the runner-up of Group E (Fuvahmulah/Thimarafushi/Guraidhoo) in the quarterfinals, and vice versa.
