Club HDC has defeated Dhivehi Sifainge Club to become the National Volleyball League 2024 champions.

In a gold-match showdown last night, Club HDC staged a comeback to secure a 3-1 victory. DSC initially dominated the opening set, building a 4-point lead at one stage and eventually taking the set 25-21 after an intense exchange. However, HDC won the remaining sets, with scores of 25-19, 25-21, and 25-19.

The champions Club HDC and runner-ups Dhivehi Sifainge Club were on winning streaks in the run-up to last night’s final game of the league.

In yesterday evening’s game, Sports Club City won the bronze medal as they secured the third place by defeating Police Club in the five-set match.

Police Club, who ended up at the bottom of the table, had also taken their tie against Blues For Volleyball to a fifth set.

Blues For Volleyball had ended up in 4th place having defeated against DSC in their fourth game on Wednesday.

The individual winners of the league are as follows:

Player of the tournament – Hussain Razan (DSC)

Foreign player of the tournament – Mubasshar Raza (HDC)

Most Promising Player – Raish Riffath Hameedh (BFV)

Best Outside Attacker – Adam Naseem (DSC)

Best Mid-blocker – Adam Fairooz (HDC) and Mohamed Ahsan (HDC)

Best Setter – Ali Nimaal (HDC)

Best Opposite Player – Hussain Razan (DSC)

Best Libero – Mohamed Mimraah Hassan (DSC)

Best Coach – Hussain Shareef (HDC)
