Swimming prodigy Mohamed Rihan Shiham has broken two new records at the 59th MILO/MAS Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship.
The teenager logged the fastest time ever for a Maldivian swimmer in the 400m freestyle event at an impressive 04:28.34 on the clock, breaking the previous national record of 04:29.07 that he made at the Arena Thailand Championship earlier this April. Rihan broke the national record in this category for the first time in February when he logged 04:31.96 at the World Aquatics Championship in Doha.
In the butterfly 50m event of the ongoing Malaysian Championship, Rihan finished the race at 00:26:98, breaking the previous national record made by Mohamed Aan Hussain (00:27.23) at the Indian Ocean Island Games 2023.
In addition to his newest two records, Rihan holds the national 800m and 200m freestyle records which he broke at the Arena Thailand Championship this April. He also holds the national butterfly record for 100m and 200m.
