The Maldives shooting team’s Ziyan Ziyaau and Mariyam Eeshal Misbah have set a new national record in the 10m air pistol mixed team event at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
Ziyan had scored the highest points in the singles event, and Eeshal previously set a new national record in the women’s 10m air pistol at these Games.
Ziyan and Eeshal set the new record with a combined score of 557 points, competing in the mixed team event at the General Shooting Gallery in Nagoya, Japan, this morning.
The event’s winners were India’s Suruchi Singh and Kamaljeet, shooting an Asian record of 484.6 points to win the gold medal, above South Korea and Islamic Republic of Iran.
For the Maldives, the previous national record was held by Ziyan and Riushaa Mohamed, who scored 548 points at the 13th South Asian Games in Nepal in 2019.
Last night at the Men’s 10m air pistol team event’s finals, Ziyan competed alongside Mohamed Shubhaath and Maadh Mohamed, scoring 1652-26x points.
With this morning’s Mixed Air Pistol team event, Maldives shooting team’s events at the Asian Games 2026 have now come to an end.
