STO Recreation Club, last year’s Club Maldives Cup runner-ups, have topped Group B of the King’s Cup 2026 with a 100% win record.

Group B, which consists of STORC, RRC, The Hawks, and FYSDA of Fuvahmulah, has been regarded as the toughest of the three groups.

STO won the final fixture of the group against The Hawks, with one goal from Mohamed Imran (Immi) separating the two.

“We wanted to qualify for the quarter-finals with a 100 percent winning record, and we are happy to achieve that,” Imran had said in a post-match interview.

Although Hawks faced defeat last night, they qualified for the quarters as well, given that Fuvahmulah Youth & Sports Development Association (FYSDA) were held back by Road Recreation Club.

Following a seven-goal thriller, RRC came out on top with 4-3 at fulltime. Having lost to both Hawks and STO, the defending champions fought to survive by earning the three points. Although the group’s fixtures have wrapped up, RRC’s fate is yet to be determined.

Out of the third-placed teams from the three groups, the two best-performing teams are to qualify for the quarters. Group C third-placed team STELCO have earned of the two spots. The remaining spot will be determined by tonight’s Group A game between Utheemu FC and Eight Four FC.
