Week twelve of Dhivehi Premier League has kicked off this evening, as TC Sports Club defeated United Victory by three goals to one.

This was just the second win of the season for TC, who started the week at the bottom. They had previously won just one game in eleven. The three points earned this evening help TC climb three positions upward, from tenth to seventh.

Last week’s stoppage-time equalizer against Maziya had given TC hopes of returning to their ideal form.

It took forty minutes for TC to break the deadlock this evening, with the Ghanaian striker Boadu Prince scoring in a one-on-one with the goalkeeper.

Prince managed to widen the lead with a second goal fifteen minutes into the second half, volleying in from a corner-kick. TC got to score a third goal, their biggest lead of the season – a cornerkick that flicked off Hussain Shareef’s head from inside the six year box.

United Victory managed to pull a consolation goal in the 86th minute – TC defenders’ failure to clear a low cross by Anas from the right side, ended up with foreign player Mohamed Samir firing into the net.

TC overtakes United Victory, Club Green Streets and Club Valencia all with today’s win. United Victory remain equal on points with tenth-placed Valencia. UV has now lost nine games in twelve, more than any other team in the DPL.
