Buru Sports Club has bottled a hard-earned lead in the dying minutes against TC Sports Club in week seven’s final match of Dhivehi Premier League 2025.

Coming into the match, Buru Sports Club had the chance to overtake both Victory SC and Club Eagles should they win the match.

Their opponents, TC Sports Club, were aiming to get a second win of the season and build some momentum into escaping the relegation zone.

Neither of the clubs’ aims was reached, as both settled for a 1-1 draw. Three-quarters of the game had passed without a goal before Buru SC took the lead. A rebound ball off of the TC’s Egyptian goalkeeper found Buru SC’s Hodgeson unmarked. Hodgeson tapped the ball into the empty net and gave Buru the lead.

Their hopes of taking the three points and climbing back to the top four in the standings were crushed after a stoppage-time equalizer by TC. A rebound ball off of the crossbar found Mohamed Dhaanish Ibrahim, who scored from close range in the 90+2nd minute.

Buru SC head into the international break at 5th place in the league standings, with eight points in seven games. TC, on the other hand, is struggling with just four points at the ninth position. They are now equal on points with both Green Streets and United Victory.
