Afro Sports Club have successfully defended the Ooredoo Eydhafushi Futsal Cup. Afro SC defeated Club Combination in yesterday’s seven-goal thriller of a finale’ at Eydhafushi futsal ground.
Afro Sports Club took the lead three times and lost it twice. Mohamed Fasir’s opener helped Afro break open CC’s deadlock, only for his brother Ali Fasir to equalize it for the rivals. Afro’s Ibrahim Ishan (Sattu) regained the lead with a first-half brace.
Sattu completed his hat-trick in the second half, but not before Club Combinations’s Unais scored two goals on either side of the interval.
The two finalists had faced each other in the group stage; that game ended in a goalless stalemate.
Sattu and his teammates Haisham and goalkeeper Shaan were selected for the top five of Eydhafushi, alongside finalists Sentey and Aihu.
Afro SC had defeated Muringu FC by 5-1 in this year’s semifinals. CC made it to the final after beating United V by nine goals to four.
