National Track and Field athlete Fasuha Ahmed just won the silver medal in the 800m event in Sri Lanka National Athletics U-23 Junior Championship.

The Championship was held in Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium in Sri Lanka. Fasuha reached the finish line at 2:13.81 (two minutes, thirteen seconds and 810 milliseconds) on the clock, behind the race winner, who finished in 2:11.08.

Fasuha participated in the 400m running event of the Championship as well. She is part of the Track and Field Association’s contingent, which includes fifteen other junior athletes of the club.

The local athletes are participating in various events of the championship, from running events (100m, 200m, 400m, 800, 1500m and 3000m) to javelin throw, discus throw, hurdles and triple jump.

Fasuha’s most recent renewal of the 800m record was during the Indian Grand Prix last month when she clocked 2:14.53 at the finish line.
