The battle to escape the relegation zone has intensified after a 2-2 draw between TC Sports Club and Club Green Streets in Sunday night’s game of week eight in the Dhivehi Premier League 2025.

Heading into the November international break, both TC and Green Streets had just one win, one draw, and six defeats to their name; TC had drawn against Buru, and Green Streets held back New Radiant to a 2-2 draw in game week seven.

Both teams regrouped this weekend in hopes of getting a second win of the season. Although Green Streets managed to take the lead twice, TC was able to equalize on both instances.

The first goal by Green was scored in the ninth minute by Mohamed Saqib, after a defensive mishap by TC defender Yazdhan resulted in the ball changing feet.

But a mistake by a Green defender cost them the lead, as TC’s Ghanaian forward Prince capitalized on the situation and scored.

Green recovered the lead via a strike from Rilwan Waheed just before half time; Riley was at the right place in the right time to match with the goalkeeper’s rebound ball.

Although TC managed to get things together in the second half and equalize via a goal from Dhaanish in the 51st minute, the boys in red failed to complete the comeback.

Both TC and Green walked off the pitch with one point in hand each. If a winner was decided, they could have climbed above Club Valencia and into the top six. But for now, both TC and Green are left with just five points each, just above United Victory in the league standings.
