Maziya Sports and Recreation have dropped points for just the second time this season, running into a 1-1 stalemate against Buru Sports Club on Thursday.
Hassan Naiz scored the first and only goal for The Green Boys in the 13th minute, as Ghanaian midfielder Obeng cut it back to assist him from the edge of the box.
Buru were able to equalize before half-time, as Hudson Dias broke through on the counter and scored his eleventh goal of the season.
Maziya could have sealed the title of Dhiraagu Dhivehi Premier League 2025 tonight, if they had won the match. However, they could be confirmed champions if Odi drops points against Victory Sports Club tomorrow night.
Buru Sports Club is likely to end the season in fourth position. Third-placed New Radiant had widened the gap this evening, defeating Eagles 8-4 to make it to 33 points. The only case where Buru ends up in third is if New Radiant loses the next two games. Similarly, Buru would lose the fourth position to Club Eagles only if Buru loses the remaining two games.
