Multi X Kanmathi FC have won Thulusdhoo’s MYAT Sports Fiesta 2026 for a third time, defeating rivals Apocalypse SC.

Kanmathi, who had won the championship in the inaugural year of 2018, then defended it in the next year, claimed the third trophy last night after seven years of waiting.

Just one goal separated Kanmathi and Apocalypse, in last night’s final at the Thulusdhoo futsal ground. It was a first half goal scored by Abdhulla Shafiu (Shaappe), who drove the ball up all the way from the mid-line, and fired it low and hard past the Apocalypse goalkeeper.

Shaafiu, who was crowned King of the Fiesta, was one of the two players of Kanmathi FC named in the top 5 players, alongside Hussain Suhail – who was the top scorer. Three players from the star-studded Apocalypse claimed the remaining spots – Hussain ‘Only’ Shareef, Ahmed Aflaz, and goalkeeper Naffaz Saud.

Nine teams had competed in this year’s MYAT Futsal Fiesta, which is regarded as the most popular of its kind within Kaafu Atoll. This year’s MYAT Sports Fiesta also included the MYAT Femina Futsal tournament, held specifically for women players.

A Veterans Futsal match was also held as part of the fiesta. The match, played against the Thulusdhoo Veterans team, was won by the Dhiffushi Veterans team.
