Zeppo defeated Kuda Henveyru Lions in the fourth quarterfinal match last night.
Zeppo won the match by two straight wins. They played from outside the ring in the first round, winning it by 6-5 with 03:56 left on the clock.
Playing from inside in the second round, it took over a minute for Zeppo to bring down the first KH player. They tackled down four more players in the next minute.
KH Lions were strong after the time-out; by the time it was down to one minute, they narrowed the score to just one point (8-9), and then equalized with 19 seconds remaining. But Zeppo brought down two more KH Lions players before the buzzer went off.
Zeppo had been seeded directly into the round of sixteen, where they faced four times champions Club Teenage and defeated them with straight wins.
Kuda Henveyru Lions had made it to the quarterfinals after knocking out Eagles in EC and Janavaree Magu SC in the previous rounds. Although they got knocked out last night, Kuda Henveyru Lions are the fans’ favorite team as of last night, ranking highest in the poll with 6350 votes. At the time of their game last night, KH Lions’ Ibrahim Lubaan was ranked highest in the poll for fans’ favorite player.
The second semifinal leg of Eid Baibalaa Challenge 1446 is confirmed to be a battle between Zeppo and Lorenzo Sports Club.
Club Kaasinjee will face TFT in the opposite leg of the semifinal. Both the semifinal matches and the final match will be played Sunday night.
