The Ninety-Plus Gold Cup has resumed for the second phase of the group stage, as Fuvahmulah took on Th.Thimarafushi this evening.
It took five games for Fuvahmulah to be held back from winning. With a goalless second half, both teams walked off the pitch with one point in hand as the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Ali Ilman Ahmed Moosa gave Thimarafushi the lead with a 10th-minute header from a corner kick. Fuvahmulah equalized midway through the first half, as Owusu Kofi scored his eighth goal of the tournament. The Ghanaian of Fuvahmulah team is currently leading the race for the Golden Boot.
The next game of this group will be played on Wednesday evening, as Thimarafushi will strive to top the group in the battle against Guraidhoo.
The second phase games will continue tonight as B.Eydhafushi takes on K.Maafushi. With Fuvahmulah dropping points this evening, Eydhafushi remains the only team that has won every game of the Gold Cup.
