Resort League: South Male’ has a new champion

Sun Siyam Olhuveli defeated Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi in the final match of the South Male’ zone, becoming champions for the very first time.

Olhuveli opened the scoring by converting a free kick in the sixth minute. Five minutes later, Ithaafushi attempted a comeback with an equalizer, but Olhuveli regained the lead with a second goal soon after. Olhuveli went into half-time with a two-goal lead, scoring a third strike just before the break.

Champions Sun Siyam Olhuveli qualified for the South Male’ finals after defeating Velassaru Maldives in the semifinals by 6-4 on penalties. The runner-ups Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi had secured their spot in the final by winning over Crossroads Maldives by 2-3 in the opposite leg of the semifinal.
