Resort League Baa Zone has concluded with Anantara Kihavah claiming the champion trophy, defeating the hosts Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru in the final game.

The match was decided by just one goal from Anantara. The new champions of Baa Atoll enjoyed a 5-goal win over Milaidhoo in Wednesday’s first semifinal game.

The Four Seasons team had a difficult road to the final. The runner-ups had conceded early in all of the group-stage games. They came back from behind in every game except one; their defeat against Milaidhoo, who topped group B by goal-difference advantage over the hosts.

The hosts booked their spot in the final in Wednesday’s second semifinal game, defeating Group B winners Finolhu by 3-2.

Despite making it out of the group stage with just a point above Vakkaru and Amilla, Anantara Kihavah made the best out of the momentum they built on their road to domestic glory.

The champion team’s Rashad Abdul Matheen was awarded player of the tournament. He had scored six goals and won multiple MOTM awards.

Baa Zone has thus far seen the most participants in this year’s resort league, with ten resorts competing across two groups.

Resort League 2024 kicked off in North Male’ zone and proceeded with the Dhaalu and Ari zone before reaching Baa Atoll.

The league’s next stop is in Raa Atoll, with group-stage games set to kick off on Sunday.
