JOALI Maldives, champions of Raa Zone and the defending-champions of Resort Super League, just defeated North Male’ Zone winners Bandos, claiming back-to-back gold in the ultimate contest in Resort futsal.
The final score stood 2-0.
At the start of the Super League back on 28th September, champions from each of the six competing zones had been allocated an opponent to play home-and-away fixtures with. JOALI was initially defeated by Baa Zone title holders Anantara Kihavah, but turned the tide, ending the tie with a 9-6 aggregate score.

The Raa Zone champions went on to win their semifinal game against the more experienced Conrad Maldives to claim their spot in the final.
Runner-ups Bandos were the ones to kick off the league by scored ten goals in two legs past their opponents Sun Siyam Olhuveli from South Male’.
JOALI Maldives had won the Super League last year after defeating Crossroads Maldives in the final. The champion team’s star player Muslim Mohamed had risen up to the occasion every time.
Muslim won the player of the final match, best player of the league, and top scorer award. The ‘Best Coach’ was awarded to Abdhullah Haneef, also known as Benjo. The veteran footballer – who announced his retirement late last year – is the man who guided JOALI to glory on both occasions.
