Masodi Sports Club has been promoted to the Dhvehi Premier League next season after beating Tent Sports Club 5-1 in the semi-final of the second division tournament.
This is the first time that Masodi Sports Club will compete in the top tier. They were the runner-up in the last edition of the third-division tournament.
Masodi took the lead in the first half, with Hussain Shareef heading in a cross from Ali Shamis (Thoppey) to break the deadlock. However, Tent equalised before halftime when Sri Lankan international Chalana Chameera sent the ball into the bottom corner.

This is the first time Masodi has conceded a goal in this tournament. They finished four group stage matches with clean sheets. They beat Mahibadhoo Sports Club and LT Sports 4-0 in the first two games before thrashing JJ Sports Club 6-0 in their third game. They beat Kudahenveiru United 1-0 in the final group stage game.
Masodi reached the semi-finals after defeating BG Sports Club 5-0 in the quarterfinals.
Masodi took the lead for the second time in the second half when Islam Fekri Gabala converted the penalty, which was a result of the opposition goalkeeper tripping Hussain Shareef inside the box.
Abdulla Ziyan (Junkie) scored their third goal with 10 minutes remaining. Mohamed Elsayed scored their fourth goal just at the end of normal time, and Ziyan added a fifth in stoppage time.
Masodi will play against the winner of the semi-final between New Radiant and Victory Sports Club in the final of the second division.
