Maldives Bodyboarding Association has confirmed the final standings of 2024 National Bodyboarding League 2024.
The top four athletes aged 18 and above from last year’s final standings in the men’s open category have been selected for the National Team this year.
Ali Jawed (Jaatte) from L.Gan, claimed the champion title of Maldives Bodyboarding League 2024 and topped the leaderboard with 3440 points across the three events of the league.
Ali Khushruwan (Ayya), who was crowned Drop Knee champion, claimed the second spot in the open category, scoring 3220 points. Ayya and Jaatte will be teamed up with Aamin Umar Moosa and Ashraf Hassan in the national team this year, the latter two having tied with a total of 2570 points each.
Teenager Eyan Ahmed – the champion of National Ban’du Filaa Challenge – scored 3085 points. Eyan is however ineligible for a spot in the national team since he is below the age of 18.
All of the top 8 athletes on the leaderboard will be seeded directly into the third round of the first event of 2025 – Burunu Shikaaru, to be held from 25th to 29th May.
