The Football Association of Maldives has been withheld from receiving the FIFA development fund.
The association’s acting general secretary, Mohamed Jaushan Shareef, said the fund was withheld as related matters were being investigated.
While FIFA withheld development funds, FAM officials have been accused of embezzling money from FIFA’s development funds.
However, the FAM has already denied the allegations.
FIFA had previously decided to pay $300,000 to pay the association’s salaries.
Jaushan said that in addition to the remaining $100,000, FIFA has agreed to give an additional amount of $81,000 to clear the debt for the contracted technical staffs.
