Dhivehi Youth League 2024, held in three age groups has come to its conclusion.
The closing ceremony of the first Dhivehi Youth League, organised by a collaboration between the Football Association of Maldives and Maldives Soccer Mates (MSM), saw the champions and runner-ups of the three age divisions receive their respective awards.
The ceremony, honored by special guest Hussain Mohamed, Vice President of Maldives, was held last night at the Galolhu National Stadium.
Dhivehi Youth League 2024 kicked off on November 21st and continued until Tuesday. The under-12, under-14, and under-16 age divisions featured eight clubs each and 560 young footballers across the three divisions. Apart from Hurriyya Sports Club, all the clubs were junior counterparts of Dhivehi Premier League: Maziya SR, Valencia, TC Sports Club, United Victory, Super United Sports, Club Eagles, and Victory Sports Club.
Super United Sports (SUS) had won all seven games to become champions of under-12 division. The under-14 champions are TC Sports Club, and under-16 champions are Club Valencia.
The sole individual player award – a golden boot for top scorer of the under-16 division – was earned by Aidh Mohamed Javeez of Club Valencia, who had scored 14 goals in seven games. In addition, best coach award was given in each of the age-divisions.
