Club Maldives Cup and Eighteen Thirty futsal tournament championships have been endorsed by the Football Association of Maldives.
The FA and Club Maldives held a signing ceremony on Thursday evening, to mark the collaboration between the two. Under this agreement, Club Maldives will provide ‘technical support’ for the newly announced Atoll and Regional Futsal Championships, according to the association’s statement on social media.
The scope and specifications of these technical supports are yet to be disclosed.

From next year onwards, FAM plans to let Club Maldives manage the newly planned National League. The Atoll and Regional Futsal Championships to be played later this year, will be the pathway to the national tournament, says FA President Ahmed Thariq (Tom).
“That would be the top-tier futsal tournament in the Maldives, and (participant) teams will be allocated into the Club Maldives”, says Tom.
Club Maldives, the organizing body of several mid-year futsal tournaments in Male’, has announced seven different tournaments for this season: King’s Cup, CMC, CMC Classic, 18/30, 18/30 Classic, Sector League, and Kidsal.
Among the tournaments, the FA had endorsed the two premier competitions for men and women: the Club Maldives Cup, and Eighteen Thirty.
At the moment, title holders of the CMC are Road Recreation Club, having won their second trophy last year. On the women’s side, Dhivehi Sifainge Club (DSC) are the defenders of the Eighteen Thirty trophy, after winning it for the fourth time.
