Hanimaadhoo are crowned champion of Haa Dhaalu Atoll in the FAM Futsal Atoll Championship, as they defeated Naivaadhoo in the final last night.
The game kicked off at 20:30 at the Nolhivaranfaru Futsal Ground, where all of the Atoll’s games took place. Hanimaadhoo scored twice in the first half – one by Noorullah Thoha, the other by Mohamed Khalid – to take home the victory. The second half ended just how it started; Hanimaadhoo two goals up.
Noorullah Thoha went on to be named the best player of Haa Dhaalu atoll.
Naivaadhoo and Hanimaadhoo are both qualified for the Regional League qualifiers. They will play in Zone 1 of the North League qualifiers, alongside winners and runners-up from Haa Alifu, Noonu, Raa, Baa and Lhaviyani.
Golden Futsal Championship title holders Naivaadhoo, who won both their games in the group stage, continued their winning form into the finals with a comfortable 5-0 win over the atoll hosts Nolhivaranfaru in the semi-finals.
Hanimaadhoo had topped Group A of Haa Dhaalu on goal difference, having tied on points with both Nolhivaranfaru and Kumundhoo. They went on to defeat Neykurendhoo 2:1 in the semifinals.
