Title defenders Road Recreation Club has reached the final of Club Maldives Cup for a fourth straight year.
RRC made it to this year’s final after defeating Club MTCC 4-3 in last night’s semifinals.
Goals from Ahmed Aflaaz, Shanaan Rashad, Adam Nasih, and Mohsen Montazemi earned RRC the hard-fought victory.
Following RRC’s early lead, MTCC were able to equalize twice – once via Mohamed Isaam, and then via Nattan Soares from the 10-meter penalty spot.
Nasih’s goal, assisted by Ali Hafiz, put RRC back in front, and Mohsen’s goal made it 4-2 before Soares pulled another one back for MTCC.
RRC will be playing against STORC in Saturday night’s final. The latter have defeated Club HDC 3-1 in the semifinals, having previously overwhelmed United BML 4-1 in the quarters.
